Enter Rosaline and Romeo

Rosaline: O Romeo! How great my love is for you!

Romeo: Rosaline, I must tell thee something.

Rosaline: O?

Romeo: There is another that I think I love.

Rosaline: Ay, me!

Romeo: She is a Capulet.

Rosaline: O! How my heart aches!

Juliet enters

Rosaline: Juliet! Thous't steal the love of Romeo!

Juliet: Thou art the robber! Thou hast took his heart from me!

Romeo: This feud is too much! Adieu for now!

Romeo exits

Rosaline: You goatish diamal-dreaming lout!

Juliet: You weedy toad-spotted strumpet!

Rosaline is furious at this point. She pulls out a dagger and stabs Juliet

Juliet gasps in suprise, falls to the ground and dies

Romeo quickly returns at the scream

Romeo: Juliet! What hath happened here? Is she dead?

Rosaline: Yes, I hath stabbed her, she hath provoked me.

Romeo: O Rosaline, you hath saved me from her!

Rosaline: I am confused. You did not love Juliet?

Romeo: Now that I look back, I loved her for her appearance.

Rosaline: So you loved me for who I truly am?

Romeo: Yes. It is you that I love, Rosaline!

Rosaline: Romeo, thou art freed from her forever!

Romeo: Thank the Gods! Let us go and rejoice!

I'm not sure I get the concept here. Why is Romeo suddenly in love with Rosaline. Where did she get the dagger? Why was she so rash? Why is Romeo so grateful?

This is definitely an interesting and exciting idea, but I'm not sure I get the concept either. I think the entry could be enhanced if it started a little farther back in time, when Rosaline realizes that she loves Romeo. In the beginning, does Romeo love both Rosaline and Juliet? And if Romeo says that he loves Juliet in the beginning, why is he happy that she dies?

I have to agree with the others i am confused on the concept. If Romeo says he loves Juliet not Rosaline, than why was he happy Juliet died? It was really strange and hard to follow at the end. Also, you should give Romeo a reason to leave instead of just having him leave at a random time. The writing was good you just have to fix the plot a little.

I have the same topic! But I was also confused about the ending. In your story you have Romeo say "There is another that i love... She is a Capulet," but then why would he be happy when Rosaline kills Juliet? But I did really like your actual writing!

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback! I actually agree with you all after reading it again. It is confusing. To clarify, Juliet never leaves Romeo alone, and he loves her, but only for her looks. He truly loves Rosaline for who she is, not for her looks. He then confesses his love for Rosaline and they run off together. I have revised it and if you are still confused, please let me know.

Great! I dont find it confusing anymore.
